When, in a TMZ interview earlier this week, 48-year-old rapper Master P implied that Kobe Bryant could have made moves to save former Laker teammate Lamar Odom, the country immediately rushed to judgment saying that Master P was ignorant for making the following observation:
“If Kobe was his friend . . . Kobe, like, owns the team. He could’ve got the man back on the team . . . That’s all he wanted.”
Because Kobe Bryant has entertained society with basketball sleight of hand all his life, most thought Kobe rushing to his former teammate’s side was a genuine act of kindness.
Except…
. . . if you know anything about Kobe Bryant’s character, by his own actions, he’s a self-centered, self-absorbed narcissist. Kobe Bryant cheated on his wife, Tweety and their baby birds, with a gangly giraffe. Then when it was found out that his halo was actually horns, he started throwing other NBA stars under the hoe bus by citing their alleged infidelity. At some point you come to the realization that a certified orthopedist with the latest X-ray machine could not find a loyal bone in Kobe Bryant’s body to save anyone’s life, including Lamar Odom’s.
Ask Shaquille O’Neal who stole his team! Ask Shaq to i.d. the bony bastard who couldn’t find it in himself to play nice when the team was the only thing that counted! When Lamar Odom recovers, ask him if he thought that dried up Laker had the power to keep a place on the bench warm for him! LeBron James kept the old timers warming the bench down in Miami, and Cleveland export Zydrunas Ilgauskas and others will be forever grateful.
On October 15th, Kobe Bryant tweeted:
“When WE feel the need to question the support of others in moments as critical as a life hanging in the balance, then we must question the kind of culture we have created that has led US to such insensitive suspicion.” #justpray
Master P responds to the preying Kobe Bryant by backtracking, after catching heat from the devil’s minions:
“My prayers are going out to Lamar and his family. I pray that he comes out of this, he may have a rocky past but overall he’s a good brother. And the only reason I’m not running to the hospital to visit him [is] I’m not looking for publicity, I don’t need it. Only when I was asked, I stated my opinion on what I knew about this man from the times I was around him. Lamar complained about how everybody turned their backs on him, even his NBA buddies. But then people blew my opinion out of proportion. I understand that Kobe is one of the greatest basketball players in the world and people are going to side with him. I have nothing against Kobe or the Lakers. I have nothing to hide and I’m willing to speak face to face.”
However, for those of us who have not allowed Kobe Bryant’s basketball voodoo on court to mesmerize us into thinking the hypocrite is St. Kobe Bryant off court, we are sympathetic to Master P’s heartfelt emotions. So, his taking two steps back from the truth was unnecessary.
In the Black community, we ask: “Why bring flowers to the funeral when you could use them to bring hope to a person when they are alive?” Master P had every right to call Kobe out on waiting to show support at the funeral, so to speak. –Blackbiter.com
If Kobe Bryant’s past is any indicator of future performance, it was not the alleged drug use that got Lamar Odom cut from the team. The fact that Lamar Odom’s fame expanded to include a reality show might have made narcissist Kobe Bryant jealous. Lamar Odom being on a reality show was not as much of a distraction for Lamar as it was for the narcissist. Like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant is notorious for not being able to share—especially when it counts. Ask Shaq.
The fact that that Million Dollar Sucker James Harden fell right in line to suck the Kardashian poison lets you know the whole NBA was watching . . . Kobe—that other Million Dollar Sucker—included.
Insensitive suspicions? Really, Kobe?
